Remarks :Remarks : Lichmera incana incana is the nominate race of the Dark-brown Honeyeater. The nominate race is found on the main island of New Caledonia where it is locally known as the Grey-eared Honeyeater (Méliphage à oreillons gris). There are 4 other subspecies, 2 in the Loyalty Islands and 2 in Vanuatu. This individual was seen feeding in a flowering palm in Noumea at Ansa Vata Beach ranging from 2-5 m in elevation, 9 June, 2003.
