More ‘mysteries’ from NW NSW

Whilst tagging audio from Sturt National Park in NW New South Wales I found some more intriguing calls. This audio was recorded on 29 June 2012 The only thing that I can think of that sounds remotely like it is a Tawny Frogmouth, but I’ve never heard one that sounds like a small drum before….

You can hear the ‘drumming-sound’ again on this clip, also there are some calls that are a little similar to a Horsfield’s Bronze-Cuckoo (marked with red arrows), a Willie-wagtail and possibly a Rufous Songlark near the start.
