    Scenic-Rim

At the end of November 2018 I was invited to ‘guide’ bird-walks at the Wild Mountains venue on the ‘Scenic-Rim’ in South-east Queensland. The trip was designed to coincide with the annual ‘Scrub-Jam’. I arrived early and did some reconnaissance, doing walks in various habitats such as rainforest and eucalypt, finding such ‘delights’ as Glossy Black-Cockatoo, Noisy Pitta, Paradise Riflebird and Crested Shrike-tit (…amongst others) The ‘designated’ walk itself went quite successfully with about 10 people turning up and around and 40+ species seen
Please have a look through this post and let me know what you think, I’ve created it with the new WordPress 5 software so there may be some errors or problems. ‘Wild Mountains’ is a wonderful area and a great place to visit if you love nature….please give me some ‘feed-back’.

    Sichuan, China – Bird-Identification Quiz

    wallcreeper_3317_1000

After a highly-successful trip in 2014 I thought this area was one of the most exciting birding destinations that I have ever visited and with the assistance of one of the region’s best bird-guides we have created a photo-ID quiz to entice you there!

Note that the quiz is ‘multiple-choice’ and all the ‘answer-species’ given can also be found in Sichuan. The IOC classification gives 727 species.

We are trying to organize a tour in early-May 2016, if you are interested in joining us please contact me or Summer  through the links provided.

Get the brain-cells, field-guides and apps out and ‘dive’ in!
