1. Harrier species (Circus sp.)

These birds were filmed by Laurence Poh near Ipoh, Malaysia  they are obviously Circus harriers,  and the first two images were initially thought to be Eastern Marsh Harrier (Circus spilonotus) though after plenty of web-discussion the consensus seems to have swung to Pied Harrier (C. melanoleucos).

3. Amur Falcon (Falco amurensis)

This bird was part of a small flock seen in Sg Balang, Johore, Malaysia during January 2002, it was initially identified as a Northern Hobby (Falco subbuteo) but has since been reclassified as a juvenile Amur Falcon, probably the first records for Malaysia. Please note various pointers such as 'moustache',  leg-colour, underpart colouration etc.

This species breeds in NE Asia and winters in Southern Africa and has been recorded in Thailand, Myanmar, Laos and Tonkin
