Recently whilst doing some bird-sound recording near Samford (SE Qld) I heard this call coming from the grassy under-story. I’m fairly sure that it’s a buttonquail, (probably a Painted Turnix varia) but the habitat looked a bit unusual for this species. Any comments or ideas appreciated.
Unfortunately, this spectrogram isn’t very useful as the ‘markers’ are hidden along the base.
