Striated Pardalote?

Found this one fairly close to the previous mystery (5-note repetition) at 14.36hrs 15 Oct 2010 at SW Sensor. It was raining lightly and there are typical Striated Pardalote calls on there, and also White-throated Honeyeater, but I’m interested in the much repeated soft “dee-dee-dee-dee” sound which is given throughout, can’t think of too much else besides a Spotted or Striated Pardalote which would sound like this, however I don’t think I’ve ever come across it before.

    Hi Tom,

I’b going for spotted pardalote, due to the high pitched nature of the call, They frequently utter a 2 or 3 syllable call at this tone for their contact call, but I have heard more extended versions before.

I agree with Allan. The clip starts with a Striated Pardalote but the call you refer to is the contact call of a Spotted Pardalote. Down here in the Sydney region I hear it as a 2 or 3 note call. This longer version could be a regional dialect.
